Softball Recap: Geneva Extends Winning Streak to Three

18 must be Geneva's lucky number: they beat Monroe with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Panthers didn't even let the Red Jackets on the board, marking the Panthers' second-straight 18-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by seven runs or more this season.

The win (which was Geneva's third in a row) raised their record to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Monroe, they dropped their record down to 2-1 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geneva will welcome Naples at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Big Green Machines have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Monroe, they will challenge School of the Arts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
