Softball Game Preview: Lafayette Generals vs. Male Bulldogs

The Lafayette Generals will face off against the Male Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Lafayette has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Monday, Lafayette didn't have quite enough to beat Lexington Catholic and fell 2-1.

Rylan Music put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Male, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Hardin on Thursday, sneaking past 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Bulldogs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Hannah Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

Lafayette has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. As for Male, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
