Football Recap: Rio Mesa Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rio Mesa had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-6 to make it six. They were beaten by the Santa Barbara Dons 45-13. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Dons are ranked 174th).

Although Rio Mesa took the loss, they still got scores from Juan Munoz and Diego Ramirez.

As for Santa Barbara, they now have a winning record of 4-3. The result was nothing new for the Dons, who have now won three matchups by 32 points or more so far this season.

Aaron Baizan had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 105 yards and one score on only nine carries.

Rio Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-13 defeat against Thousand Oaks on the 17th. As for Santa Barbara, they have also already played their next contest, a 51-34 loss against Calabasas on the 17th.
