Basketball Game Preview: Raymond Rangers vs. Pass Christian Pirates

The Raymond Rangers will take on the Pass Christian Pirates in a holiday battle at at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Saturday, Raymond made easy work of Yazoo County and carried off a 63-38 victory. Given the Rangers' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Panthers are ranked 153rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pass Christian won against Ocean Springs on Monday with 77 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The stars were shining brightly for Pass Christian in a 77-59 win over Ocean Springs. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by exactly 18 points.

Raymond is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Pass Christian, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Everything came up roses for Raymond against Pass Christian when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 45-18 win. Does Raymond have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pass Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
