Basketball Game Preview: Escalante Moquis vs. Bryce Valley Mustangs

Escalante hasn't had much luck against Bryce Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Escalante Moquis will head out on the road to face off against the Bryce Valley Mustangs at 11:30 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Escalante is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Panguitch on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Escalante took a blow against Panguitch, falling 75-31. The Moquis were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.

Meanwhile, Bryce Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 44-33 to Valley. The Mustangs were down 40-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Bryce Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Escalante, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Escalante came up short against Bryce Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 41-32. Can Escalante avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
