Softball Recap: Blackman Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Blackman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Riverdale, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Blaze blew past the Warriors 18-3 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Blaze, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Blackman got a massive performance out of Sophia Sullivan, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Khloe Kolb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Blackman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Blackman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Riverdale, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Blackman is set to challenge their familiar foe Oakland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Riverdale will square off against rival Siegel at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
