Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. Tremont Eagles

The Wheeler Eagles will take on the Tremont Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wheeler's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Last Friday, Wheeler sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 73-71 win over Thrasher.

Meanwhile, Tremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 56-39 fall against Blue Mountain.

Despite the loss, Tremont saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cooper Platt dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Platt is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played.

Wheeler's victory bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Tremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-19.

Everything came up roses for Wheeler against Tremont in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-33 win. In that contest, Wheeler amassed a halftime lead of 39-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
