Patuxent has gone a perfect 7-0 against Westlake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Panthers will welcome the Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. Patuxent will be strutting in after a victory while Westlake will be coming in after a defeat.

Patuxent is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against McDonough by a score of 11-7 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Hannah Bruno made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Bruno was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rose Harrell, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Kylie Coombs was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to La Plata.

Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Patuxent, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Patuxent took their victory against Westlake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-1 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
