Volleyball Recap: Landan Namayan and Taray Irving Secure Win for River Islands

There's no place like home for River Islands, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Aspire Langston Hughes Academy Titans on Tuesday as River Islands made off with a 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: River Islands took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-11, 25-14.

River Islands was led to victory by Taray Irving and Landan Namayan. Irving had ten digs and two assists, while Namayan had three digs and two aces. That's the most aces Namayan has posted over his last eight contests. Mark Atienza also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good server: River Islands was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matchups.
