Baseball Game Preview: Poteet Pirates vs. Wilson Wildcats

The Poteet Pirates will challenge the Wilson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Poteet 3.6, Wilson 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Poteet is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against North Forney on Saturday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Wilson unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against Gunter, falling 8-0. The Wildcats were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the four matchups prior), but the Tigers' pitchers proved too tough.

Poteet's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10-2. As for Wilson, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5-1.

Poteet might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Wilson in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
