Baseball Recap: Lower Lake Takes a Loss

Lower Lake had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-9 to make it 12. They came up short against the Fort Bragg Timberwolves, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 22-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Fort Bragg, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

For Fort Bragg's part, Carter Killion made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Killion has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chris Hernandez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Salo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Fort Bragg beat Lower Lake by a score of 20-2 later that day.
