Softball Recap: Washington Now 15-1 over Last 16 Games

Washington got themselves on the board against Canton on Wednesday, but Canton never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Little Giants. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Canton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Washington is set to challenge their familiar foe Limestone at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Panthers' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Rockets have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Canton will take on rival Metamora at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Little Giants 3.5, the Redbirds 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
