Football Recap: East Davidson Golden Eagles vs. North Rowan Cavaliers

East Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the North Rowan Cavaliers 60-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Eagles of the 47-12 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.

Landon Hollar threw for 177 yards on 11 of 24 attempts. Tegin Hedrick was his top target, picking up 104 receiving yards.

Jeremiah Alford was his usual excellent self, throwing for 190 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punching in a rushing score for North Rowan. A'Son Best did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.

East Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for North Rowan, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

East Davidson has already played their next matchup, a 73-7 loss against Salisbury on the 11th. As for North Rowan, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on October 18th. West Davidson is on a three-game streak of home wins, North Rowan a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
