Basketball Game Preview: Stargate School Eagles vs. Coal Ridge Titans

The Stargate School Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Coal Ridge Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stargate School has given up an average of 64.3 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Stargate School is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-62 heartbreaker at the hands of Eagle Ridge Academy. The Eagles were up 24-10 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Coal Ridge didn't have too much trouble with Delta on Friday as they won 60-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Stargate School better keep an eye on Ben Simons. He was instrumental in Coal Ridge's win, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Simons is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Cornejo, who posted ten points and four steals.

Coal Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They are 15-2 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Stargate School's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Coal Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 17-6.
