Basketball Recap: Anderson Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Anderson Prep Academy played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Lapel Bulldogs 72-9. The Jets have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Laniah Wills was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 12 rebounds for Lapel. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wills has scored at least a third of Lapel's points. Another player making a difference was Sophie Goodwin, who went 7 of 14 en route to 17 points along with seven steals and five assists.

Anderson Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Lapel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

When Anderson Prep Academy and Lapel next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Anderson Prep Academy will try to stop Centerville's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Lapel will try to stop Sheridan's 12-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
