Wilcox-Hildreth suffers 16th straight loss at home

Recap: Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons vs. Silver Lake Mustangs

The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Silver Lake, falling 63-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wilcox-Hildreth has scored all season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wilcox-Hildreth struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Silver Lake racked up 15 assists.

Silver Lake had a senior duo take command as Jordan Faimon scored 17 points along with four steals and Tayten Menke scored 13 points along with two steals. Lane Conway was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.

Wilcox-Hildreth's defeat was their 16th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Silver Lake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wilcox-Hildreth the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Franklin at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Silver Lake, Silver Lake and Lawrence-Nelson will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Lawrence-Nelson is ranked 147th, while Silver Lake is ranked 128th).
