Softball Game Preview: Straughn Tigers vs. Satsuma Gators

The Straughn Tigers will challenge the Satsuma Gators at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Straughn is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Straughn is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They didn't even let Opp on the board, marking the Tigers' second-straight 3-0 shutout. Give the Tigers' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Not much got past Jaycee Norton, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Opp off the board. Norton has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Straughn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Pettus, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Satsuma was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 16-1 to Orange Beach. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Satsuma's loss dropped their record down to 23-15-2. As for Straughn, their win bumped their record up to 28-9-1.
