Soccer Game Preview: Conroe vs. Grand Oaks

Conroe hasn't had much luck against Grand Oaks recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Conroe Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Grand Oaks Grizzlies at 7:15 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Conroe's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Ridge on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 303rd in Texas, while the War Eagles are ranked 78th in Texas).

Meanwhile, Grand Oaks kept a clean sheet against New Caney on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 2-0. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Madison Heiken and Emma Harrell scored both of Grand Oaks' goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Grand Oaks pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matches. As for Conroe, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
