Basketball Game Recap: The Pinnacle Timberwolves vs. Arvada Bulldogs

Arvada came into Thursday's game looking for another win against The Pinnacle, but Caleb Arellano wouldn't allow it. The Pinnacle Timberwolves came out on top against the Arvada Bulldogs by a score of 63-50 on Thursday thanks in part to Arellano, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Trujillo, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Arvada lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Deymian Than, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and five assists. Daiven Binns also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The Pinnacle's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-2. As for Arvada, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

The Pinnacle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-55 win against Platte Canyon on the 21st. As for Arvada, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fort Lupton at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
