Sterling has gone 9-1 against Pawnee City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Sterling Jets will be playing at home against the Pawnee City Indians. Sterling has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row dating back to last season, Sterling turned things around against East Butler on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers, sneaking past 56-54. The Jets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pawnee City, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 45-26 win over Southern last Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Sterling better focus on containing Emalyse Gottula and Cara Pierce as the pair were huge in Pawnee City's win. Gottula posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and six boards, while Pierce went 5 of 8 on her way to 11 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Pierce a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Benson, who had seven points.

Pawnee City was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Sterling's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Pawnee City, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
