Football Recap: Kai Tart's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mcmichael over Southwestern Randolph

McMichael lost against Southwestern Randolph back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Phoenix came up short against the Cougars, falling 50-26. The Phoenix were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

McMichael's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kai Tart, who threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 46 yards. Brayden Dalton was in the mix too, providing the Phoenix with two scores.

McMichael's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Southwestern Randolph, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Coming up, McMichael will face off against Morehead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwestern Randolph, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eastern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
