Recap: Marcus Marauders vs. Plano East Panthers
After flying high against the Plano Wildcats last Friday, The Marcus Marauders came back down to earth. Marcus fell 30-18 to Plano East on Friday. Marcus was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Plano East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, Marcus still got an impressive performance from Rhett Garza, who picked up 154 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Plano East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylon Hatcher, who picked up 102 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kendall Keierleber got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Marcus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Plano East, their win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marcus will face off against McKinney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Plano East, they will head out on the road to face off against Prosper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Prosper will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
