Basketball Recap: St. Michael Comes Up Short

St. Michael was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 69-29 loss at the hands of the San Carlos Braves. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Braves are ranked 20th).

St. Michael's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for San Carlos, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Michael will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dishchii'bikoh at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for San Carlos, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Carlos has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
