Baseball Game Preview: McGavock Raiders vs. LaVergne Wolverines

The McGavock Raiders will kick their season off against the LaVergne Wolverines on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.

LaVergne is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 15-2 to Eagleville on Saturday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

LaVergne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

As for McGavock, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (10-13), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.

McGavock couldn't quite finish off LaVergne in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can McGavock avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
