Basketball Recap: Bourbon Comes Up Short

Bourbon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 55-35 to the Crystal City Hornets. The game was a close 22-20 at the break, but unfortunately for the War Hawks it sure didn't stay that way.

Crystal City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carly Roussin, who posted 17 points and five steals. Roussin is becoming a predictor of Crystal City's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 8-11 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Maya Hankins, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 24 boards.

Bourbon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Crystal City, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Coming up, Bourbon will challenge Grandview at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crystal City, they will square off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
