Basketball Game Preview: Arlington Colts vs. South Grand Prairie Warriors

Arlington is 0-10 against South Grand Prairie since November of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Arlington Colts will venture away from home to square off against the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Arlington is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Haltom with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 78-60. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie entered their tilt with Sam Houston on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed by the Texans to the tune of 71-35. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Texans are ranked 547th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Grand Prairie pushed their record up to 17-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Arlington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15.

Arlington and South Grand Prairie were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but Arlington came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can Arlington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
