Basketball Recap: Zaiden Greene Key Part of Team Effort in Warhawks Win

McDonough won the last time they faced Eagle's Landing and things went their way on Friday too. The McDonough Warhawks walked away with a 61-51 win over the Eagle's Landing Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warhawks.

McDonough's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zaiden Greene led the charge by dropping a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards. That's the most rebounds Greene has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zion Greene, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.

McDonough smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyree Ware, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Adams, who put up 16 points.

McDonough's victory bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Eagle's Landing, their loss dropped their record down to 21-8.

McDonough wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-64 win against Cedar Shoals on the 19th. As for Eagle's Landing, they have also already played their next matchup, a 69-56 defeat against East Forsyth on the 19th.
