The Monrovia Bulldogs came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Indianapolis Scecina Memorial 71-41 at home. This was payback for Monrovia, who suffered a 61-33 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Monrovia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Clay Tharp, who scored 18 points along with three steals and two blocks. Tharp is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Rahn, who scored 18 points along with seven assists.
Monrovia is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-13.
