Baseball Recap: Olympic Comes Up Short

If Olympic was feeling good fresh off their 16-3 takedown of Harding University on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Central Cabarrus Vikings on Tuesday, falling 23-1. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Olympic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Van Bouchaute, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Van Bouchaute is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Olympic's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Central Cabarrus, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

While Olympic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
