Volleyball Game Preview: Shelton Bulldogs vs. Overton Eagles

Shelton and Overton are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2020, but not for long. The Bulldogs will square off against the Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Shelton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Shelton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Central Valley 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since September 9th.

Gracie Willis had a dynamite game, getting 33 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October.

Meanwhile, Overton beat Southwest 3-1 on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Roughriders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Shelton's record is now 27-5. As for Overton, their record now sits at an identical 27-5.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Shelton has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Overton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
