Baseball Recap: Weed Takes a Loss

If Weed was feeling good fresh off their 14-1 takedown of Trinity two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars lost 16-2 to the Mt. Shasta Bears on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-8 back in March.

Weed saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Bowles, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Weed's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-7. As for Mt. Shasta, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

While Weed had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
