Volleyball Game Preview: Irvine Vaqueros vs. St. Margaret's Tartans

The Irvine Vaqueros are taking a road trip to take on the St. Margaret's Tartans at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Irvine has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while St. Margaret's will arrive with 12 straight wins.

On Friday, Irvine didn't have quite enough to beat Laguna Beach and fell 3-2.

Irvine wouldn't go down easily and took Laguna Beach into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 23-25, 20-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, St. Margaret's got the win against Woodbridge on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 25-14.

St. Margaret's pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Irvine, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Irvine came up short against St. Margaret's in their previous matchup back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Vaqueros avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
