Softball Recap: Laurens Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Northside Christian Academy last Tuesday, Laurens Academy came back down to earth. The Crusaders came up short against the Wardlaw Academy Patriots on Tuesday, falling 17-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-8 back in March.

Braylee Burke made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Laurens Academy has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Wardlaw Academy, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.

Laurens Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-3 defeat against King Academy on the 4th. As for Wardlaw Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 19-3 loss against Augusta Christian on the 3rd.
