Basketball Preview: Antioch Sequoits vs. Round Lake Panthers
After two games on the road, Antioch is heading back home. They will take on the Round Lake Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Antioch and the Panthers are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Antioch lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 63-40 loss to Wauconda might stick with them for a while. Antioch was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.
Antioch's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Heidi Rathmann, who scored 13 points, and Addison Webb who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Round Lake was able to grind out a solid win over the Bulldogs on Monday, taking the game 46-33. The win was just what Round Lake needed coming off of a 49-20 loss in their prior contest.
Antioch has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. As for Round Lake, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-17.
Antioch was able to grind out a solid win over the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January, winning 45-38. Will Antioch repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
