Basketball Recap: Life Oak Cliff Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Life Oak Cliff duked it out withWills Point on Saturday. The Life Oak Cliff Lions managed a 44-40 victory over the Wills Point Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 54-43 on December 3rd.

Wills Point's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sheldon Taylor, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 boards. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played. Jett Fletcher was another key player, putting up 13 points and six rebounds.

Life Oak Cliff has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Wills Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which is still a better percentage than their 4-16 record this season.

Life Oak Cliff and Wills Point could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Life Oak Cliff (ranked 756th) will meet Village Tech (ranked 279th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wills Point (ranked 1276th) will meet McKinney Christian Academy (ranked 65th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
