Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Skye Pratabaack and Olivia Stevens Lead Piedmont to Victory

Piedmont's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Encinal Jets by a score of 3-1. The game was the first time the Highlanders have beaten the Jets on their court since September 19, 2022.

Piedmont had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-23.

Leading Piedmont to victory were Olivia Stevens and Skye PrataBaack. Stevens had 25 digs and two aces, while PrataBaack had six aces. What's more, Stevens posted four assists, the most she's had since September 2nd. Carina Vora also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Piedmont was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Piedmont's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. As for Encinal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Piedmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Castro Valley on the 2nd. As for Encinal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Westmoor on the 1st.
