Basketball Game Preview: Grove City Christian Eagles vs. Fisher Catholic Irish

Grove City Christian is 0-10 against Fisher Catholic since December of 2019 but things could change on Saturday. The Grove City Christian Eagles will welcome the Fisher Catholic Irish at 4:30 p.m.

Grove City Christian is headed into Saturday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They were dealt a 61-30 defeat at the hands of Genoa Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 512th, while Genoa Christian Academy are ranked 140th).

Despite their loss, Grove City Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Cadence Randall, who posted 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave Randall a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Karlich, who had seven points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Fisher Catholic waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Flames with a sharp 59-33 win. The Irish have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Fisher Catholic pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.9 points. As for Grove City Christian, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Grove City Christian was dealt a bruising 61-28 defeat at the hands of Fisher Catholic in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for Grove City Christian, Ellie Bruce (who went 12 of 14 on her way to 28 points and eight rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
