Baseball Game Preview: Loudoun County Captains vs. Heritage Pride

Loudoun County is 1-9 against Heritage since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Captains will welcome the Pride at 6:30 p.m. Loudoun County will be strutting in after a victory while Heritage will be coming in after a loss.

Loudoun County will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Dominion, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Captains' pitchers stepped up to hand the Titans an 8-0 shutout on Friday.

Brady Shaw was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Jacob Martin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Heritage's offense. They fell 5-0 to John Champe on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pride in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Heritage saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Olszewski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Loudoun County's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
