Severn School and Gerstell Academy are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Admirals will take on Gerstell Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Severn School is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.

Severn School is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maryland's top teams: Boys Latin, who was ranked 18th at the time (Severn School was ranked ninth). The Admirals had just enough and edged out the Lakers 1-0.

The result came thanks to Caden Blanck's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Severn School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andy Blanck, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gerstell Academy). They blew past Glenelg Country 11-1 on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Severn School's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average this season. As for Gerstell Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
