Basketball Recap: Duncan Comes Up Short

Duncan lost against Hayden back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Duncan Wildkats lost 69-48 to the Hayden Lobos. The Wildkats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Hayden got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Garner out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Hayden is 4-2 when Garner posts eight or more boards, but 4-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Gaither, who went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Duncan's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hayden, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-9.

Duncan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 41-20 victory against San Manuel on the 21st. Hayden has also already played their next contest, a 64-26 win against Superior on the 17th.
