The biggest upset of the week belonged to Piedmont, who defeated 384th ranked Alameda, 35-27.
Tennyson was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in West Alameda County - Shoreline. The Lancers defeated Arroyo 56-8 earlier in the week.
Tennyson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Christian Silva threw for 70 and 1 touchdown and Xavier Thibodeaux had 24 yards receiving. On the ground Joshua Handy contributed 165 yards. Tyreece King helped Tennyson's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.
Terry Smith's team's dynamic duo of Silva and Thibodeaux proved tough for the Dons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. King helped Tennyson's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.
Handy provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Lancers beat Arroyo.
5-foot-9 quarterback Jonathan Sturholm of Mt. Eden is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,378. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Keelan Doss. The Alameda star has 26 catches for 517 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Tennyson takes on second place Piedmont.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Monarchs and the Hornets face off next week.
The Highlanders scaled the state rankings by moving to 668 from 723 this week, the biggest jump in West Alameda County - Shoreline. Piedmont climbed the ranks as a result of beating Alameda 35-27.
