Baseball Recap: Southern Door Takes a Loss

Southern Door was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Oconto Blue Devils, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Southern Door saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Neinas, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Mason Paye also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Southern Door now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Oconto, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southern Door is set to square off against their familiar foe Sturgeon Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Oconto will take on rival Peshtigo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
