Softball Game Preview: Lehighton Indians vs. Bangor Slaters

The Lehighton Indians will head out to square off against the Bangor Slaters at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lehighton has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lehighton came up short against Northern Lehigh on Wednesday, falling 16-2. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brynn Mriss was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

While Bangor didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Jim Thorpe on Thursday as they made off with a 20-9 victory. The Slaters might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Bangor and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.5 runs over those games. As for Lehighton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
