Basketball Game Preview: Jennings Bulldogs vs. Bell City Bruins

The Jennings Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Bell City Bruins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Jennings had to suffer through a 75-18 loss at the hands of Iowa. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Bell City waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 win over the Hornets.

Bell City pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Jennings, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Jennings was dealt a bruising 61-27 defeat at the hands of Bell City in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Jennings was down 52-8.
