Softball Recap: Knox Redskins vs. North Newton Spartans
After losing to North Newton the last time they met, Knox decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Knox Redskins walked away with a 6-1 victory over the North Newton Spartans on Saturday.
Cheryl Barnes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Barnes has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Barnes was also big at the plate, going 4-for-4 with four RBI and a double.

North Newton is facing Benton Central at the right time seeing as Benton Central is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
