Soccer Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Independence, falling 3-0. That's two games in a row now that Mt. Vernon has lost by exactly three goals.

Mt. Vernon's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 9-5-3. As for Independence, they pushed their record up to 16-2-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Coming up, Mt. Vernon will take on Vinton-Shellsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Independence, they will square off against West Delaware at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
