Basketball Recap: Laramie Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Laramie and Campbell County squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Laramie had to settle for second. They took a 62-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Campbell County Camels. The defeat continues a trend for the Plainsmen in their meetings with the Camels: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Laramie still got an impressive performance from Neil Summers, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jaden Smith, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 15 points.

Even though they lost, Laramie was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. This was only their fifth loss (out of 22 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Campbell County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Truman Degrange, who shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Andela, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds.

Laramie's loss dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Campbell County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Laramie nor Campbell County have any future games scheduled.
