Football Preview: Raft River Trojans vs. Hagerman Pirates
Raft River has been away from home for three games now, but on Friday they'll finally make their return. They and the Hagerman Pirates are set to duel.
Raft River is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Valley, who was ranked fifth in their home state at the time (Raft River was ranked tenth). Raft River was outmatched by Valley on the road and fell 48-8.
Meanwhile, Hagerman waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 30-14 victory over the Pirates. The 30-point effort marked Hagerman's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Kylan Kendall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 72 yards. Wyatt Mavencamp was another key player, throwing for 181 yards and three touchdowns.
Hagerman wouldn't let Butte County keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force four fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Martin Gonzalez, Casen Knight, Colmin Pierce, and Kendall picked up one apiece. Kendall's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 129 receiving yards dating back to last season.
Raft River's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Hagerman, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
