Softball Recap: Oak Harbor Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Oak Harbor had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Galion Tigers 5-4.

Morgan Lalonde made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Lalonde wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Geyer, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Oak Harbor is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Galion, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-16.

As of now, neither Oak Harbor nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
