Basketball Recap: Kearney Comes Up Short

If Kearney was feeling good fresh off their 66-29 takedown of Van Horn last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kearney Bulldogs were beaten by the Grandview Bulldogs 67-39 on Friday. Kearney has struggled against Grandview recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Kearney still got an impressive performance from Brooke Paalhar, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Paalhar has been hot, having posted four or more steals the last seven times she's played. Ryleigh Van Emmerik was another key player, putting up five points.

Kearney's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Grandview, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Kearney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-37 defeat against North Kansas City on the 3rd. As for Grandview, they have also already played their next game, a 44-29 loss against Central on the 7th.
